Freshest Redesign. #redesign11
10.6 x 4.8 x 3.4 inches
8 x 4 x 1 inches
NO ONE 2ND GUESSED IT:
For a common household product, Listerine bottles has the issue of not being easily stored due to its size.
ONE PRODUCT TO ANOTHER:
The current design is iconic and instantly recognizable. Shaped for grip and making an impression.
SHARING IS CARING:
Taking inspiration from flat water bottles, I slimmed down the bottle design but kept the iconic grip divot.

60 Degrees C
Bleeding Polymorph Ring
IN TIMES OF EMERGENCY:
In a house fire, doorknobs become hot to the touch without any visual indicators of its heat.
QUICK RESEARCH SOLVING:
Polymorph - a low temperature melting plastic. Polymorph is a suitable material. At room temperature, it just as strong as a normal plastic but at 62 degrees C becomes soft and melts.
By infusing a thin plastic ring onto the edges of the doorknob, we can now tell whether it’s safe to grasp by whether it “bleeds”.
Re-thinking air travel. #redesign16
THEY MADE IT LOOK NICE:
The redesigning of boarding passes often focus on improving the visual hierarchy, leaving other factors such as size and security ignored.
BUT DIDN’T SOLVE THE ISSUE:
Taking a step back, I decided to rethink entirely how a boarding pass could work. How could I make it impossible to misplace?
By making it a wristband, it now has all the advantages of a wrist watch, even the flex.
Modern isolation. #redesign13
Pyroelectric (“Passive”) Infrared Sensors
Detects up to 1 - 5 m
I KEPT GETTING SURPRISED:
When listening to music on headphones, situational awareness tends to be low.
BUT WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY:
An optical sensor is a device that detects moving objects, particularly people. Commonly they are used for automated lighting control and security purposes.
I HEAR YOU COMING:
By adding these sensors on the sides of the headphones, proximity alerts through vibrations can help us detect nearby entities.
Why the heck not? #redesign14
MAGNETIC PANTS CLAPSE
THEY HAVE TEETH:
Zips are often problematic; they get stuck, they are noisy and not handicap friendly.
MAGNETS ARE NATURAL:
While there have been innovations regarding jacket zippers and magnets, the innovation has yet to reach pants.
DO NOT HUMP CPU:
Simply by replacing the jagged teeth of the zipper with a magnetic strip, the pants instantly easier to button up with one hand.
Bedroom Disco. #redesign15
Weaved into fabric
Micro LED Lights
STUBBED TOES DURING WINTER:
During winter nights, going to the bathroom is often a strenuous task, with the cold floors and dark lighting.
The current solution is carpeted floors and motion detecting night lights. Meh, they are alright.
WALKING ON SUNSHINE:
By embedding led lights into the base; we are able to create a carpet that lights up when stepped on. The illumination would be touch-sensitive and pressure based.
Reach for the top. #redesign17
A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE:
It is difficult to reach for the uppermost shelves on a bookshelf.
ACCESSIBILITY = KEY FACTOR:
Most bookshelves are assemble-it-yourself. So a motorized solution would not work and instead, hand focused traditional mechanics is the best path forward.
By creating adding a simple crank system and modifying bookshelves’ existing design, we can make it easy for people to reach their books no matter how they are organized.
Logical innovation. #redesign18
MINIMAL CHESS SET
IT STARTS WITH AN INSIGHT:
Chess is not an easy game to pick up.
ADD SOME THINKING:
Chess is about strategies and planning ahead. It is not easy to know what is going on without fully anticipating the threats.
By designing the pieces exactly how they can move would allow new players to see incoming threats.
Shopping Experience. #redesign19
Touch Screen Controls
There is no easy way to keep track of how much your supermarket purchases can add up to. Plus the queues are long and tiring.
Self-service supermarkets are on the rise with companies like Amazon opening up to systems that are based on honor and trustworthiness.
BE THE BETTER YOU:
By attaching a scanner to each shopping cart, shoppers would be able to make intelligent decisions to stay within their budgets.
Bathroom Brainstorms. #redesign20
DISGUISED TOILET BRUSH
THERE WAS TIME TO THINK:
We tend to hide our toilet brushes in corners of the bathroom. There is a certain stigma to it considering it is used to clean poop.
ADD SOME SHADE:
Everyone wants more green in their bathroom. But often there is a lack of sunlight to sustain life.
A BETTER NO.2:
Disguise the toilet brush as a potted plant. Oh, it's fake too.
